Deer Park Student Honored For Video On Suicide Prevention Awareness

DEER PARK, NY —Deer Park High School freshman Kaylee Puterbaugh won an award earlier this month for a minute-long public service announcement she created to spread awareness of suicide prevention.

As a student in Jill Perry-Eising’s Multimedia Business Applications class, Puterbaugh entered the Suffolk County Community College Radio and TV High School Media Competition. Her video on suicide prevention awareness took the win in the 60-second public service announcement category

For the competition, Puterbaugh researched suicide prevention, wrote the script, created a storyboard, filmed the video and edited it using Final Cut Pro X.
