On Monday, Patch asked readers what they would like to see fill the now vacant former location on Deer Park Ave. in North Babylon.

Several readers responded with some interesting ideas.

Jacquie remembers when Pier 1 once called the location home. “It would be nice to have a home store there,” she said.

Felisa Di Nunzio said she would like to see something “new and unique” fill the empty store front. But she also felt a national chain such as DSW, Bath & Body Works or a Trader Joes — always a popular choice — would be suitable for the location.

Other suggestions included an original restaurant from Grace, a housewares store from Mark and perhaps a discount grocery chain such as Aldi, which was suggested by Lori Grimaldi.

The Aldi choice might be challenging since the Germany-based grocery store currently has a store in nearby and has announced plans to open a third Long Island location in .
