Green Spurs San Antonio To Game 3 Win
Former North Babylon basketball star scores 27 points in 113-77 win over Miami.

Against the Heat on Tuesday, North Babylon’s Danny Green was on fire.
The San Antonio Spurs’ guard had a team high 27 points as the Western Conference Champs defeated Miami 113-77. The win gives the Spurs a 2-1 lead over the defending NBA champs in the best of seven series.
Green made seven of the Spurs’ 16 3-pointers, the latter of which is an NBA Finals record.

“It’s been a while since I shot the ball like that,” he told mysanantonio.com. “It was a totally different level of feeling. When I saw daylight, I just let it fly.”
Green’s NBA career has been far from smooth; having been cut by several teams, including a Cleveland Cavaliers team that at the time included the Heat’s LeBron James.

“All of my teammates and (head coach Gregg Popovich), they do a great job of encouraging me,” Green told ESPN. “They continue to tell me to shoot the ball.”
The former North Babylon hoops star has had a strong NBA Finals. In San Antonio’s 92-88 Game 1 win, Green had 12 points shooting 4 of 9 from 3-point range. In Game 2, a 103-84 Heat win, Green had a team high 17 points shooting 5 of 5 from 3-point range.
For the series, Green is averaging slightly more than 18 points per game and is shooting 69.5 percent from 3-point range.
