DEER PARK, NY — A Lindenhurst man was ticketed by environmental officers last month, after he posted videos on the internet of himself illegally cutting and damaging state trees in Deer Park, state environmental regulators said.

On Nov. 6, a forest ranger investigated a complaint of illegal tree cutting in the Edgewood Oak Brush Plains Preserve, the State Department of Environmental Conservation said. The man recorded himself using knives, axes and machetes on the trees.

He also cut a trail leading to a clearing and stored several chairs and a makeshift bench, regulators said.

The man posted videos on the internet, but the videos did not show his face, DEC said.

A ranger then set up a trail camera near the clearing and recorded the man Nov. 21. He was issued tickets for cutting and damaging trees on state land and storing personal property on state land.
