Meet North Babylon High's Valedictorian And Salutatorian

NORTH BABYLON, NY —North Babylon seniors Kathryn Iudica and Minal Sabi went above and beyond during their time in high school, earning them the distinguished titles of valedictorian and salutatorian, the school district announced.

North Babylon School District has named its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2024.

Iudica will be graduating with a grade point average of over a 104 and an extensive resume which includes multiple sports, clubs, honor societies, and volunteer activities, including coaching lacrosse for young children.

She has worked as a referee, a swim instructor and in a local bakery, the school said.

She graduate with the prestigious New York State Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors Designation with mastery in math and science.

In the fall, Iudica will attend Long Island University where she will major in biology as a pre-med student and play Division I lacrosse.

According to the school, Sabir’s academic success can be attributed to her determined and focused nature. Despite "rigorous and demanding" coursework, she was able to meet the demands of the Honors and Advanced Placement program with ease, the school aid.

Sabir is also an active member of the student body, participating in various clubs from the Computer Club to Students for a Better World. She is also an integral member of the track and field program. In addition, Sabir has been a part of multiple honor societies all while working part-time.

After graduation, she'll attend New York University where she'll study computer science.
