Monday's Events: What's Happening Locally
On the final day of April the local libraries are busy with many things to do.

Welcome to Monday, April 30, the final day of the month, which means we’re one-third of the way through 2012.
Wow, that went fast.
As we complete April and shift into May, there are a few things happening locally for folks looking to spend time in either Deer Park or North Babylon…or both.

At the , the Knitting Club gathers at 10 a.m. Led by Roberta, the club welcomes all levels of knitters. Newcomers are asked to bring one ball of smooth middle-weight yarn and a pair of #8 knitting needles.
Also at the library, the Mother Goose class will meet at 10 a.m. and is designed for youngsters newborn to 23 months of age.

At 7 p.m. It’s All About Slime at the library. Learn the differences between solids and liquids and recognize that the same material can exist as both. Participants will make two slimes, one to take home and one to eat in class. If you’re going to this class, let us know how it tasted.
At the a GED Home Study Course will be held at 5:30 p.m. The BOCES course is a home-study program that allows adults 21 years of age and older to obtain their high school equivalency diploma. Individual assignments are developed and delivered to the library to be picked up by students.
In high school sports Deer Park’s varsity baseball team is at home to take on Eastport/South Manor at 4 p.m., while North Babylon’s boys varsity tennis team will also be at home to take on West Babylon. First serve is at 4 p.m.
