North Babylon Art Students Bring Beauty To Gilgo Beach
Students from Amityville, Babylon, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, North and West Babylon and Wyandanch beautified a tunnel near Gilgo Beach.
NORTH BABYLON, NY — A slew of Suffolk County high school students brought beauty to Gilgo Beach in May. 17
Students from North Babylon High School’s National Art Honor Society joined students and teachers from Amityville, Babylon, Deer Park, Lindenhurst, West Babylon and Wyandanch high schools on May 17 in a mural painting and restoration project in the tunnel under Ocean Parkway at Gilgo Beach. The project was sponsored by the Town of Babylon Parks Department and the Babylon Citizens Council on the Arts.
The artists restored a 20-year-old mural and painted two original designs created by North Babylon High School students Peyton Silvestri and Angela Shi.

North Babylon students who participated in the painting were: Marguel Allen, Joseph Bacchi, Anaya Cruz, George Folise, Kristina Kasenchak, Mairead Matthews, Emily Miccio and Peyton Silvestri. The students were accompanied by Art Club adviser and art teacher Sarah Lambert.
