North Babylon School District Music Nationally Honored For 16th Time

The designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in music education.

NORTH BABYLON, NY — The North Babylon School District is continuing to hit high notes.

The district has been recognized as a "Best Community for Music" by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation.

This "distinguished" honor is awarded to school districts across the nation that demonstrate outstanding efforts, and commitment to providing access to music education for all students, a release said.

“This is the 16th time North Babylon has received this prestigious award since 2003, a testament to the unwavering dedication of our music educators, students, and community,” said North Babylon School District’s Director of Music and Art Elizabeth O’Brien.

The NAMM Foundation assesses districts based on various criteria, including funding, curriculum and participation in music programs. This recognition highlights the district's commitment to "providing a comprehensive and high-quality music education to all students, equipping them with essential skills that extend far beyond" the classroom.
