Teen Arrested After Making Threats Of Mass Harm At School: PD

Suffolk County Police arrested a Deer Park student for bringing a BB gun to school and making threats against the school, police say.

DEER PARK, NY — A Deer Park student was arrested Thursday after he brought a BB gun to school and made threats of harm towards the school community, according to Suffolk County Police.

He was charged with aggravated threat of mass harm, a Class A misdemeanor, police said.

First Precinct Patrol officers responded to Robert Frost Middle School after the student displayed a BB gun and threatened to cause harm, police said.

A security guard then escorted the student to the principal’s office, where school officials confiscated the BB gun at around 11:30 a.m., police said.

According to Suffolk police, officers investigated and determined there was no credible threat.

He was released to a family member and is slated to be arraigned at Suffolk County Family Court at a later date.
