Thursday's Events: What's Happening Locally
Knitting and crochet groups will meet while several high school sports team will be in action.

It’s Thursday…one more day to go before another busy week comes to a close. Today throughout Deer Park and North Babylon events are aplenty with something to do for knitters, kids and sports fans alike.
At the the Knitting Group will meet at 2 p.m. This is an informal get-together for both the novice and expert. Registration is not required.
For those handy with a needle but unable to get to Deer Park, the will host its Crochet Club from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feel free to bring your projects and questions for Joan.

Back at the Deer Park Library, Pajama Storytime will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Youngsters are invited to wear their pajamas, bring a stuffed sleeping buddy and join their friends for some “sleepy” stories and songs. Sounds like a great way to end the day.
It’s also a busy day for local high school sports teams.

North Babylon teams competing today include the varsity baseball team heading to Copiague for a 4 p.m. game, while the varsity lacrosse team has a home game vs. Copiague at 4 p.m.
For Deer Park teams, it will be a mix of running and walking today. On the running side, the boys varsity track team will race against Islip at home beginning at 4 p.m. The walking side features the girls varsity golf team taking on West Islip at Heartland Golf Club. Tee-time is 3:30 p.m.
