Tuesday's Events: What's Happening Locally

Cookie making in Deer Park and a fundraiser for St. Cyril are among the events going on around our towns.

With showers again in the forecast for Tuesday, local residents will be looking for something to do indoors.

At the , a senior advocate from the Suffolk County Office of the Aging will be available from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The representative will be there to assist seniors with forms and applications and to answer questions regarding county programs and services for seniors.

At the a Book Discussion about “A Year in Provence” by Peter Mayle will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Also, the library will be playing host to Tot’s Night Out from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Enjoy a fun-filled hour with music, crafts, stories and fun.

For mothers looking for support and tips on breastfeeding, Southside Hospital’s Breastfeeding Support Group meets today at 1:30 at the hospital in Bay Shore. Meet with other mothers and their infants, make new friends, and discuss the joys and challenges of motherhood. A professional lactation consultant will help guide the group and be available for questions or concerns. Participants are encouraged to bring a snack or a drink.
