Wednesday's Events: What's Happening Locally
St. Francis mobile health van comes to the Deer Park Library, and students in North Babylon can prep for the SAT.

Welcome to Wednesday. Throughout Deer Park and North Babylon, there is a lot happening and we’ve highlighted a few things taking place in both communities.
The St. Francis Hospital Community Van will be at the from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to provide free health screenings to those 18 and older. Medical personnel will take a brief cardiac history, blood pressure and a simple blood test for cholesterol and diabetes. No appointment is necessary.
Over at , incoming freshman for the 2012-13 school year will be able to take part in an Open House. Students can tour the school and get a sense of what life as a high school student will be like.

The is offering an SAT Prep course that runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The course will offer tips to help test-takers succeed on the SAT. Fee is $85 and payable to the Cultural Programming Fund.
Also at the North Babylon library, Preschool Storytime will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Designed for children ages three to five, the program includes songs, stories, crafts and parachute fun.

In high school sports, the Deer Park varsity baseball team will play at Huntington with first pitch set at 4 p.m. North Babylon’s varsity softball team heads to Centereach for a game set to start at 4 p.m.
