Wednesday's Events: What's Happening Locally

Programs at the North Babylon Library are on tap for today.

We’ve reached the midpoint of the week and hopefully yesterday’s rain didn’t leave you too wet. We're guessing the grass, trees and plants are enjoying their weekly dousing from Mother Nature.

For those looking for something to do and stay dry today, we have a few suggestions for you.

The is hosting Pre-school Storytime. The program for youngsters ages two to three will be at 10:30 a.m. while the program for kids ages three to give will be held at 2 p.m. Join in for stories, songs, crafts and parachute fun.

Also at the library, a lecture on Organic Gardening will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The workshop will teach participants how to start a garden, develop a three-season gardening calendar and share other tips as well. Master gardener Vincent Cirasole will lead the class.

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip is holding its Life Goes On Cancer Support Group at 11 a.m. at the hospital. The support group is free and all are welcome.

In local high school sports, the final game of the season for the North Babylon High School varsity softball team is at 4 p.m. The Bulldogs are hosting West Babylon.
