From a 'Texas Smoker' to art classes for the kids, there's a great deal happening in Deer Park and North Babylon.

On Fridays, Deer Park-North Babylon Patch will highlight some of the top weekend events happening locally. You can find a complete list of things to do locally in our Events listing.

Those looking for an evening out that’s not too far from home have several choices. Among them is the being hosted at the in Deer Park. For those who enjoy a good game of Texas Hold-Em this party is for you. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

Also on Friday, psychic medium will be appearing at the West Babylon Fire Department Station 1, 126 Arnold Ave. from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $35. Wands hosts the weekly radio call-in program “Psychic Sundays” on WALK 97.5 FM. For more information call 516-818-7772.

Opening day for the is Saturday at Pine Acres Park. The 5- and 6-year olds will start at 9 a.m. and the 7-year olds will begin play at 11 a.m.

will be held Saturday at Town Hall Annex Room 15, 281 Phelps Lane in North Babylon. The 9 a.m. workshop is for children ages 6-10 and the 12 p.m. workshop is for youngsters ages 11-14. Fee for each workshop is $30 for BaCCA members and $35 for non-members.

A concert will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the Deer Park Library. Join fellow patrons for a lively and fun-filled afternoon listening to the Gercharel Players present heart-felt readings and beautiful love songs.
