Woman Hit And Killed By Car In West Babylon: Police

A woman was hit and killed by a car while she was crossing the street in West Babylon Tuesday morning, Suffolk County police say.

WEST BABYLON, NY — A woman was hit and killed by a car while she was crossing the street in West Babylon Tuesday morning, Suffolk County police said.

According to police, the woman was crossing Route 109 when she was struck by a southbound 2009 Nissan Altima at the intersection of Old Farmingdale Road around 6:30 a.m.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, police said.

Police said the driver of the Altima, Erin Hancock, 23, of West Babylon, was not injured.
