5 Things: Rounding Out the Week, Post-Sandy

TGIF! Here's what you need to know before the long-awaited weekend arrives.

1. NYC Schools will be closed Friday. 

2. Limited subway service will continue Friday with "bus bridges" into Manhattan. Be sure to check if your line is running before heading to the subway. On the up side, buses are running and rides are free through Friday. 

3. If you plan on driving into Manhattan after 6 a.m., you must have at least three people in the car.

4. Cultural institutions such as the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Academy of Music are open.

5. All NYC parks, including Prospect Park, playgrounds, beaches, and recreation centers remain closed until further notice due to hazardous conditions. Bloomberg says the city hopes to have them open by the weekend. See the Parks Department website for updates. Also, Alternate side parking rules will be suspended Friday but you will need to feed the meters.
