In Ditmas Park, Halloween Parade Goes Off Without a Hitch

Hurricane or not, Ditmas Park children were determined to trick-or-treat.

Though Hurricane Sandy did not hold back when she came through the neighborhood Monday and Tuesday, the witches, pirates, goblins and ghouls of Ditmas Park came out in full force for the West Midwood Halloween parade on Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Tons of parents, children and friends gathered on Glenwood Road off Rugby
Road at 4 p.m. where they were then guided by a band of costumed musicians that kept the beat as they marched.

Snacks and juice was served throughout the event, and after the parade concluded, bands of superheroes, princesses and zombies dragged their parents to ready houses for candy and other treats.
