Daylight Break-Ins Plague Ditmas Park
Resident: "My house was robbed a few weeks ago… Today (burglars) robbed a neighbor."

A series of daytime burglaries throughout Ditmas Park has residents up in arms about neighborhood safety.
Concerns were raised about the multiple break-ins at the 70th Precinct Community Council meeting Wednesday night by those in attendance, and Lieutenant Jacqueline Bourne noted that the police are aware of the incidences and are working on apprehending those responsible.
Separately, Ahmer Qadeer, a Ditmas Park resident who lives near Cortelyou Road, told Ditmas Park Patch his home was one of those broken into. "My house was robbed a few weeks ago, and there has been a spate of burglaries nearby. Today (burglars) robbed a neighbor."

He noted that six homes have been broken into in a short period of time and all break-ins occurred during the day.
Anyone with information regarding these break-ins are advised to contact the 70th Precinct at (718) 851-5511. Additionally, the police are available to perform a free crime prevention survey on homes to ensure that all necessary safety precautions are taken to prevent any foreseeable crime.
