Take advantage of the many happenings in Ditmas Park this weekend

Every Friday, Ditmas Park Patch will give a tip on what's going on for the upcoming weekend. Here's this week's:

 

Join cyclists from the neighborhood Friday at 7 p.m. for the weekly . The purpose is purely for a fun, relaxing group ride through Ditmas Park's streets and there is no planned route; it's decided upon before each ride. What better way to mark the start of summer than with a day in the park? The Parkside Playground opens this Saturday and an all-day celebration will offer fun for the whole family.



Head to the Church Avenue BID Sidewalk Sales this Saturday to take advantage of the many deals available.

Church Avenue merchants from Coney Island Ave. to Flatbush Ave. will set up tables of merchandise outside their stores and will be offering special deals.

The sale will occur all day, so make sure to catch it.

Bring your compostable food waste to the at 11 a.m., where Sustainable Flatbush will add them to their compost bins. The compost site is located behind the church, on East 21 Street between Kenmore Terrace and Church Avenue.

 

Birdwatchers of all ages and experience--kids included--can in Prospect Park every Saturday to get a crash-course on how to spot our feathered friends.

 

On Sunday shop for produce and more at the . Beginning at 8 a.m. in front of the Cortelyou Library, vendors sell a range of products, including fruits and vegetables, cheese, eggs, turkey, mushrooms, bread, fish and more.
