EAST ISLIP, NY — East Islip residents have spoken.
The East Islip School District's 2023 to 2024 proposed budget of $125,761,934 with a budget-to-budget increase of 0.81 percent and a tax levy increase of 1.4 percent has passed with 972 votes for "yes" and 256 votes for "no."
For the Board of Education, voters reelected incumbent President Christopher Zachry, who received 788 votes and who ran unopposed.

For the other open Board of Education seat held by William Carpluk, who did not run for reelection, Jessica Ciampi received 873 votes running unopposed.
