East Islip HS Announces Class Of 2021 Valedictorian, Salutatorian

EAST ISLIP, NY — East Islip High School announced that the class of 2021 valedictorian and salutatorian are Shannon Wodicka and Taylor Casali, respectively.

Wodicka is a member of the East Islip’s National Honor Society, Science Honor Society, World Language Honor Society, Math Honor Society and Math Team.

She is an accomplished musician, playing in the school's pit orchestra, pep band and wind ensemble.

She has earned SCMEA, NYSCAME and All-State recognition as a clarinetist and is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York.

Wodicka also competes in varsity swimming and the Connetquot Swim Club, and donates her time to the Exchange Ambulance of the Islips.

She will attend Binghamton University, majoring in chemistry and following a pre-med track.

Casali, an AP Scholar with Distinction, is a member of the school’s National Honor Society, Foreign Language Honor Society and Leaders Club.

She plays for the East Islip Soccer Club and has earned Scholar-Athlete recognition.

Casali will attend The Ohio State University, where she was awarded the National Buckeye Scholarship and Maximus Scholarship, and will major in biology.
