Final Deadline For 911 Victim Compensation Fund Is This Week
The last day to register for federal funding for anyone with a September 11th illness or a lost family member is Thursday, July 29.
LONG ISLAND, NY —Thursday, July 29, is the last day for those affected by a September 11th-related illness to register for the federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF.)
Once registered with the fund, victims can benefit from the World Trade Center Health Fund. Advocates for first responders stress that anyone who even suspects they have a claim should register before it's too late.
This final deadline was extended two years from the original 2019 date by the Department of Justice. Anyone who has lost a family member to a 911 illness is also eligible.
