Boozy Bubble Tea Is Coming To The East Village
Boozy bubble tea is coming to New York City this September.
EAST VILLAGE, NY — A bubble tea spot is bringing boozy drinks to the East Village this September.
Beginning September 16, Bubbleology NYC will start serving up boozy bubble tea — which the company says is "New York City's first-ever Boozy Bubble Tea."
"We are so excited to bring a fresh, new concept into the bubble tea market with the release of our Boozy Bubble Teas," said Bubbleology founder Assad Khan. "These alcohol-infused beverages will definitely change the bubble tea landscape and we can't wait to debut our innovative drinks in New York City."

The boozy bubble tea drinks will infuse classic bubble tea flavors with vodka, gin, bourbon and rum at the East Village digs, 120 1/2 First Ave. between East Seventh Street and St. Mark's Place.
Boozy flavors include jasmine tea with vodka and triple sec, a peanut butter flavored jasmine tea with bourbon, a tequila and lime drink with strawberry boba, and strawberry gelato with rose cider. There are also several non-alcoholic options.

The London-based bubble tea spot first opened in 2011 and has since expanded to locations in the U.S., including Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Virginia and New York City.
Previously, the bubble tea joint was home to the famed East Village dive bar, The International, which shuttered in 2017 after three decades in the nabe in a building owned by notorious landlord Steve Croman. Bubbleology opened at the location back in February.
