Argument Ends In Man Being Pummeled Outside East Village 7-Eleven, Police Say

Police say they are still searching for the five suspects.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Police are searching for five people who pummeled a 56-year-old man last week outside a 7-Eleven in the East Village, authorities said.

The group was arguing with the man at about 1:25 a.m. on Aug. 17, according to authorities. The argument started outside of the 7-Eleven located at 239 E 14th St., police said. The dispute escalated and the group of five began punching and kicking the man repeatedly as he lay on the ground, the NYPD said in a statement. The man, who suffered cuts and bruising on his head, was treated at a hospital.

Now, police are trying to identify the group of five, all believed to be in their 20s. Authorities released surveillance footage of the group on Wednesday and asked for the public's help identifying them.
