Hoarder Found Dead Inside His Apartment After People Complained of Foul Smell
Neighbors called him "box man" because he was always carrying boxes into his apartment, but none of them ever came out.
A 57-year-old man whose neighbors said was a hoarder was found dead inside his apartment on East Second Street and First Avenue Sunday, the NYPD said. Police found him after people at a nearby restaurant complained of a horrible smell, the New York Daily News reported.
Police found the man at 89 E. Second St., the NYPD said. Officers then promptly threw out at least a dozen trash bags outside the building, witnesses told the Daily News.
Neighbors told the Daily News they called him "box man" because he could always be carrying several boxes into his apartment, but none of the boxes ever came out.
