LES Shooting: Fake Delivery Worker Charged With Murder, Cops Say

LOWER EAST SIDE, NY — A fake food delivery worker faces murder charges months after he used the ruse to shoot a Lower East Side man dead, the NYPD announced Friday morning.

Jeffrey Faustin, 28, stands accused of killing Devon Venable, 30, inside his home at the Lillian Wald Houses on Jan. 14, police said.

Faustin, dressed as a food delivery worker, knocked on Venable's front door at 691 FDR Drive, police said.

According to police, Venable's father heard Faustin say, "Did someone call for an Uber?"

Venable opened the door and Faustin shot him in the neck and back, police said.

Faustin fled and Venable later died in a nearby hospital, according to police.

Court records show Faustin, of Bushwick, was arraigned on a murder charge Tuesday, in which he pled not guilty.

He remains in federal custody.
