Man Records NYPD Fining Citi Bike Rider $200 Despite Allegedly Following Traffic Rules
The man who recorded the YouTube video of three police ticketing the woman for running a red light said she hadn't run the red light.

Is Citi Bike rider ticketing getting out of hand? A man under the username Kactapuss recorded a video of a woman being ticketed by three police for running a red light in her Citi Bike at the corner of 14th Street and First Avenue. Kactapuss alleged the woman hadn't actually run the red light, but rather, she had ridden across the crosswalk and stopped at a corner, waiting for the light to turn green, the man said.
"Alright, this is nuts. This woman is getting yelled at but she didn't even run the light, she just biked past me and pulled to the corner over there," Kactapuss says.
One of the officers in the video said she hadn't stopped at the line, so she had technically run a red light.

The officer seems excited to be recorded ticketing the woman, explaining to Kactapuss that Citi Bike riders have to obey traffic rules. "It says obey traffic lights, just so you know," he says.
The woman is fined $200, according to Kactapuss.
