Popular East Village Restaurant Team Opens Neighborhood Seafood Spot
Emilia by Nai will open Wednesday at 174 First Ave. in the East Village. Here's what to know.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A team behind multiple popular restaurants in the East Village is opening its newest neighborhood eatery on Wednesday.
Emilia by Nai, a Galicia (community in Spain)-inspired, seafood and vegetable restaurant, will open at 174 First Ave. at the corner of 11th Street.
The Nai Restaurant Group already operates local spots Nai and Amigo by Nai.

The restaurant's kitchen will be headed by Ruben Rodriguez, who will serve up small plates that pay homage to his grandmother — who the eatery is named after.
The inside will be a minimalist space with 40 seats, along with an additional outdoor dining section.

The menu will include the following tasty creations:
- Oysters with pomelo, granite, dill and olive oil.
- Monkfish Liver Mousse served with fried brioche, kalamata marmalade and pickled daikon.
- Jerusalem Artichoke Escabeche with a soy cured egg.
- Squid Ink Bomba Rice with maitake mushrooms and saffron aioli.
- Roasted Beets with tofu tempura, sherry vinegar and olive oil.
- Rainbow Carrots in a red curry glaze served with quiona and grapefruit.

There will also be a cocktail and wine list, as well as a breakfast and lunch menu.
Emilia by Nai is partnering with the women-led roastery Coffee Project New York to serve up brew from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. every day.
The restaurant will be open seven days a week.
