Sketch Of Mystery Man Pulled Dead From East River Released By Police
The man was found floating in the river on July 4.

EAST VILLAGE, NY — Authorities haven't been able to identify the man who was found floating dead in the East River last week and released a sketch of the man's face on Tuesday to try and find clues as to who he is.
The man was found floating in the river near East Sixth Street and FDR Drive on July 4, police said. Emergency responders found the man at about 8:23 a.m. before pulling him onto the rocks near the river, where he was pronounced dead, according to the NYPD. Police still aren't sure who the man is, and released the sketch of his face on Tuesday night. Authorities are asking for the public's help in identifying him.
Police say the man is believed to be about 40 years old, and that he was wearing gray sneakers, jeans and a black Casio G-Shock watch at the time of his death.

Police did not immediately know how the man died, or how he came to be in the river. The city's medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
