Woman Found Dead Inside East Village Building, Police Say

EAST VILLAGE, NY — A 46-year-old woman was found dead inside an East Village building on Tuesday morning, police said.

Rachael Jaffe was found dead inside the building at 535 Fifth Street, the NYPD said in a statement. Officers found Jaffe while responding to a 911 call at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Emergency medical responders pronounced Jaffe dead at the scene. She was found with no apparent signs of trauma, police said.

The city's medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
