Art Show Opens; Charlie Whitmore Celebrates 45 Years

- Weather.com says to expect sunshine and clouds mixed and a high of 83F. Who's going to the beach?

- The second annual Midweek Art show at Ashawagh Hall opens on Wednesday with a reception from 5 to 9 p.m. The show features the work of Cynthia Loewen, John Todaro, Jerry Schwabe, Lynn Martell, Peter Spacek and Sarah Jaffe Turnbull. The show is two-days only, and you can catch the show from noon until 9 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.

- Congratulations to Charlie Whitmore and company for 45 years in business. It's great to see local businesses thrive and stick around, right? You can celebrate with him at his Montauk Highway digs on Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. 

- Patch reader Rich Morey posted about a dog that he rescued who is in need of a home. Bo is approximately two years old, neutered and has all of his shots. If you are interested in adopting Bo, call 646-246-9423.

- If you are a supporter of Rep. Tim Bishop, and have the money to spend, there are $500 and $1,000 per plate events this weekend in his honor. House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi is coming out for these fundraiser, one of which is in East Hampton.
