EAST HAMPTON, NY — East Hampton Town officials will host two free community events on Saturday, November 1 — giving residents the opportunity to safely dispose of unused medications and securely shred personal documents.

Both events will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the East Hampton Town Hall parking lot, offering residents convenient ways to protect public health, the environment, and their personal information, officials said.

"Each of these events gives residents a simple, practical way to make a difference," said East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez. "When we take unused medications out of our homes, we help prevent misuse and keep harmful substances from entering our groundwater. When we shred old records, we reduce the risk of identity theft and protect our privacy. It’s a small investment of time that makes our community safer, healthier, and more secure."
