Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:
- Hildreth’s Home Goods and the South Ferry have served customers for over 150 years and have influenced the culture and history of the East End over many decades. These two businesses are among the first 100 across New York State to be showcased by the State Registry of Historic Businesses. (Subscription: 27east.com)
- Storm knocks out power on Long Island. Though Nassau was hit the hardest, there were less than five outages reported in Riverhead and Southampton. According to PSEG Long Island, complete restoration was completed by Tuesday afternoon. (Daily Voice)
- A 14-year-old lawsuit brought by a former Hampton Bays diner owner has finally been settled. Southampton Town will pay $380,000 to settle with the owners of the Hampton Bays diner who claimed the town discriminated against them for catering to a Hispanic clientele. (Subscription: Newsday)
- This Saturday the Waterdrinker Tulip Festival will be in bloom with 1 million flowers, twice as many as last year. Waterdrinker Family Farm & Garden is at 663 Wading River Road in Manorville. (Subscription: Newsday)
