Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:
- Looking for βallergy-free ice cream?β Well, look no further than 35 Newtown Lane between Main Street and Park Place in the Village of East Hampton at the site of the former Scoop Du Jour. A La Mode Shoppe specializes in handcrafted, small-batch premium ice cream prepared locally in a facility where there is no chance of products coming in contact with nuts, eggs or sesame seeds. The ice cream is available in an assortment of flavors, with gluten-free and dairy-free options also available. This second location β the first is in New York β is expected to be ready as early as April, just in time for summer in the Hamptons! (East Hampton Patch)
- The new Guild Hall William P. Rayner Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program was launched last week and provides housing, a studio space, and focused time to develop or refine new work over a two to four-week period. The Hamptons Dance Project has been awarded the inaugural residency from Jan. 9β23."Throughout their two-week residency, HDP will be focused on embodying new works for the company, the classic Don Quixote and Justin Peckβs Chutes and Ladders. HDP will have several creative mentoring sessions with Guild Hall Academy of the Arts member and Five-time Tony Award winning director and choreographer, Susan Stroman," as reported by Dan's Papers. - New York State Police said that Gracelynn Perkowski, the 4 year old girl critically injured in a Flanders crash on Thursday, died Sunday. Her mother was arrested and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs. The crash is still under investigation and New York State Police are asking anyone with information to call 631-756-3300. (Southampton Patch)
