Here are the top stories today in East Hampton:

  1. Vaccinations, including booster shots, are readily available to East Hampton residents with the addition of vaccination clinics at Town Hall on Feb. 1, 7, 10, 16, and 22.   2. Welcoming in the New Year with more fun events and activities in the Hamptons this week, Dec. 31, 2021–Jan. 6, 2022. (Dan's Papers)
  3. The new adoption center for East Hampton's Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons is under construction, but that does not mean our four-footed animals looking for homes are not still hungry! ARF's Pet Food Pantry will be open again on Saturday, Jan. 15 from noon to 3 p.m. at Petco, located at 2044 Montauk Highway in Bridgehampton, for both donations — and distribution of pet food to those who are in need. Unopened bags of cat and dog food, both wet and dry, and treats are needed — with an urgent call out for cat food. (East Hampton Patch)
  4. 2022 starts with minimum wage in NYS increases to $13.20 an hour except for fast food workers around the state who are already making $15 an hour. Workers in Nassau and Suffolk counties will be making $15 an hour. On the National level, the move toward a $15 minimum wage is moving forward as well with President Joe Biden requiring that base salary for federal contractors. (Newsbreak)
