🌱 East Hampton Daily: Marshalls Opens + The Lost Pet Network + Fluke

Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:

1. Marshalls opens today, May 5 at the Bridgehampton Commons. The store hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Don't miss the grand opening! (Marshalls)
2. There's a new database in town, announced Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon Jr. The new online tool will help local pet parents quickly locate missing animals. The Lost Pet Network "will enroll pets into a database and provide owners with a printed pet identification card. If an enrolled four-legged friend goes missing, the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office will send an alert with the pet's information to deputy sheriffs and local municipalities. Information about the lost pet will also be shared on social media accounts to aid in the animal's return," the Suffolk County Sheriff said. (Patch)
3. Fluke season is open May 1 - Oct 9! In May, fluke move in shore from deep Continental Shelf waters where they spend the winter. They stay inland until October and then move back to the deep water. Over the past 50 years the local abundance of flounder, including summer flounder, has been on the rise. This year the fish must be 18.5 inches, you are only allowed four. (Subscription: 27east.com)
4. Late Tuesday night, Suffolk County detectives found two men shot to death inside a home in Selden, police said. Police said in a news release Wednesday morning that Ian Saalfield, 45, of Lake Grove, and the homeowner, Robert Julian, 58 were found in the home. Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. (News 12 Bronx)
