  1. See East Hampton area pets who need a home: Meet Asiah the dog, who is stunning! If cats are your thing, then meet Cha Cha Slide, a beautiful tabby. Or you may consider fostering. Offering a needy animal a safe, comforting and supportive environment while she waits to be adopted, helps socialize a shelter pet to enhance her adoption potential. (East Hampton Patch)

  3. Steve Roth, the Vornado CEO and his wife, Daryl, have put Bernie Madoffโ€™s home at 216 Old Montauk Highway back on the market, Realtor.com reported. The price has increased 25 percent to $22.5 million from two years ago for the property. The house has been updated since the Roths bought the house in 2009 for $9.4 million. (The Real Deal)
  4. William Petersohn, 30, of Mastic, pleaded guilty to charges he was driving under the influence of alcohol when he was behind the wheel of a car that caused a chain reaction crash, nearly killing a police officer. Officer Timothy Thrane spent weeks in a medically-induced coma while he recovered after emergency brain surgery. The sentence will likely be six months jail time and five years of probation, according to a Suffolk District Attorney spokeswoman. (Patch)
