🌱 East Hampton Daily: Opting Out Of Cannabis Sales + More Vax

Here are the top stories today in East Hampton:

1. The use of marijuana has been legal throughout New York since early 2021, the state is in the process of setting up the framework to allow legal sale and growing of marijuana. East End towns have taken a mixed bag of positions on whether to opt out of allowing retail sales of cannabis within their boundaries, while the villages here have sent a clear message to Albany, opting out of allowing cannabis to be sold. East Hampton and Shelter Island towns had opted out of allowing marijuana sales earlier this year. (East End Beacon)
2. East Hampton Town continues to make vaccinations, including booster shots readily available to residents with the addition of vaccination clinics at Town Hall on Feb. 1, 7, 10, 16, and 22. Over 1,000 vaccines have already been administered at town-sponsored clinics. (Patch)
3. A total of three third-prize $50,000 winning Powerball tickets were sold for the New Year's Day drawing, according to the New York Lottery. One ticket was sold at Royal Mini Mart on Hampton Street in Sag Harbor, the New York Lottery said. The winning tickets each had four matching numbers and the Powerball. The winning numbers for the Powerball drawing on Jan. 1 were: 27-29-45-55-58 and the Powerball was 2. (Patch)
