Here are the top stories in East Hampton today:

  1. Suffolk County's COVID-19 cases: Brookhaven tops the county's cases with 101,847 cases and Islip comes in a close second with 80,145 cases. On the less populated East End, Southampton has 10,059 cases, Riverhead 6,036, East Hampton 3,385, and Southold 2,608. Shelter Island has the least number of cases in the county with only 115 people testing positive for the virus. (Reverb MSN Music)
  2. New York had the third-highest exodus rate in 2020 at 66.9 percent. The most common reason for leaving the state was family at 29.4 percent. With people able to choose multiple options, the other reasons were retirement (28.95 percent); job (25.72 percent); lifestyle (24.28 percent); cost (11.69 percent); and health (7.02 percent).
