Elderly Woman Injured In Hamptons Home Invasion: Police

She was hurt during a home invasion and burglary in East Hampton Monday afternoon, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY β€” An elderly woman was injured during a home invasion and burglary in East Hampton Monday afternoon, police said.

According to East Hampton town police, the incident took place on Old Stone Highway at 4:40 p.m. The suspect was described as an adult male wearing a dark-color, hooded sweatshirt, police said.

The woman, who suffered injuries, was treated at a local hospital, police said, adding that it was not immediately clear if a weapon was used.

An extensive search of the area was conducted by East Hampton Town police officers, an East Hampton Town police drone unit, and a Southampton Village Police Department K-9 unit, police said.
