LI Set To Be Hit With Gusty Winds, Rain Thursday Night
Mother Nature is sending another blast of rain and heavy wind to the area, the National Weather Service says.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Long Islanders are in for another round of soggy weather.
According to the National Weather Service, a hazardous weather outlook is in effect from 11 p.m. Thursday until 6 a.m. Friday. Strong, gusty winds, and a period of moderate to heavy rain, is likely Thursday night into early Friday morning, the NWS said.
Brian Ciemnecki, meteorologist with the National Weather Service Office in Upton, said the rain will move in overnight Thursday, with 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch expected overall. Winds are expected to increase steadily Thursday afternoon to 15 to 20 miles per hour and gusts of up to 30 miles per hour by late afternoon. By tonight, winds are expected to range from 15 to 25 miles per hour with gusts of up to 40 miles per hour possible, he said.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect for the high tide cycle Thursday night across Long Island, Ciemnecki said.
PSEG Long Island said it is prepping for potential outages due to the gusty winds.
