New Info On Man Who Hurt Elderly Woman In Hamptons Home Invasion: PD

He grabbed the elderly woman around the neck and threw her to the ground during the home invasion then stole cash, police say.

EAST HAMPTON, NY β€”Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and East Hampton Town police are searching for the man who injured an elderly woman during an East Hampton home invasion and burglary Monday, authorities said.

Police said a man entered a home on Old Stone Highway at 4:40 p.m., grabbed the woman around the neck, and threw her to the ground. She was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The man stole cash and fled; he was last seen at a marketplace on Springs Fireplace Road, police said. He was wearing a medical mask under his chin and had a backpack with an Adidas symbol, police said. Investigators believe he was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt during the burglary and carrying it during the incident.
