Ribbon Cutting Heralds New Day For Emergency Care In East Hampton

EAST HAMPTON, NY — A new day is dawning for critically needed emergency care in East Hampton.

Recently, Stony Brook Medicine, Southampton Hospital Association, and the Southampton Hospital Foundation hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the late spring opening of the Stony Brook East Hampton Emergency Department.

"The ribbon-cutting honors the generous contributions and dedicated efforts that have made this significant milestone possible," organizers said.

The East Hampton Emergency Department is an off-campus extension of Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Emergency Department and one of only a few free-standing emergency departments in New York State.

The ribbon-cutting was meant to highlight the efforts of all who contributed to the building of the East Hampton Emergency Department, including donors, local/state officials, EMS workers, and community organizations.
