Suffolk County reported the following information related to COVID-19 on February 9, 2022. Last updated February 8, 2022

COVID-19 Vaccine Information

• 1,202,319 people have received at least one vaccine dose, an increase of 720.
• 1,081,963 people is fully vaccinated, an increase of 1,178.
• 95.0% of the population ages 18 and older has received at least one dose.
• 73.7% percent of the total population is fully vaccinated.
• 85.1% of the population ages 18 and older is fully vaccinated.
• 77.9% of the population ages 5 and older is fully vaccinated.
• 42.8% of fully vaccinated population have had a booster dose.

• Vaccination rates by zip code.
• Walk-in vaccination clinics are offering COVID vaccines to Suffolk County residents who are age 5 and older as well as booster doses to all who are eligible. Appointments are recommended. Medical practitioners and EMS are on-site at all times to answer questions and tend to concerns. Click here for locations and times and parental consent forms. • 6,957,808 total tests have been administered since March 2020.
• 276 new cases were reported.
• 18.6 cases per 100k; 26.6 on a 7-day average.
• 419,316 total cases have been reported since March 2020.
• 3.3% tested positive in Suffolk County; 4.6% positive on a 7-day average.
• 4.0% tested positive on Long Island; 4.6% positive on a 7-day average.

Fatalities, Suffolk County, February 8, 2022

• 9 fatalities:
• 4,285 fatalities since March 2020

Hospitalization, Suffolk County, February 8, 2022

• 333 individuals were hospitalized, an decrease of 25 in 24 hours.
• 35 were new admissions.
• 49 patients were in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), a decrease of 8 in 24 hours.
• 29 patients were in the ICU and intubated.
• 55 were discharged since the last report.
• 22,682 have been discharged since March 22, 2020.

Hospital Capacity, Suffolk County

• 2,833 staffed hospital beds, 806 available, 28%
• 376 ICU beds, 98 available, 26%
