Thankful for Rescue of Montauk Fishermen on This Thursday
Your guide to what's happening in the community.

Good morning, East Hampton. Here’s a look at Thursday.
- Everyone is just reeling from the miraculous rescue of John Aldridge, a fisherman who was found floating in the water roughly 12 hours after he went overboard five miles off Montauk Point. The U.S. Coast Guard — including the crew at Station Montauk — and many local fishermen came together for what was a massive rescue operation spanning 660 square miles. As one reader said, "It was like finding a needle in a hay stack."
- We will be following up on that story today.
- Outdoor activities may not go as planned. Weather.com is predicting an 50 percent chance of rain. And there's only going to be a high of 68 — that's cold in comparison to last week.
- As for me, this afternoon I will be volunteering as part of Patch's Give 5 program, where we give five hours back to the community in which we live or work. More on that later.Â
With so much to be thankful for today, make it a great day.Â
