Wind Advisory In Effect For LI With Gusts Of Up to 60 MPH: NWS

The advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m. Monday, the National Weather Service says.

LONG ISLAND, NY — A wind advisory remain in effect across Long Island until Monday night, according to the National Weather Service.

The wind advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m.; northwest winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts between 50 and 55 miles per hour, are expected, the NWS said. Isolated gusts of around 60 miles per hour are possible.

"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," the NWS said. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution, and secure outdoor objects."

Monday is expected to be sunny, with temps reaching the high 40s, the NWS said.
