Fire Island National Seashore Offers First Ever Overnight Lodging

The Bayberry Dunes Beach House near Watch Hill will be available to rent beginning Labor Day Weekend.

FIRE ISLAND, NY —For the first time ever, overnight accommodations will be available in the national park section of Fire Island. Just south of Watch Hill, a guest house called Bayberry Dunes Beach House is within the Fire Island National Seashore. Beginning Labor Day Weekend, the house will be available to rent.

According to the National Park Service (NPS) the house is secluded and stays will be affordable. Online booking will soon be available through www.recreation.gov and in the meantime anyone interested can email Fire Island National Seashore for reservations.

Close to the house are free public beaches, hiking trails in the Fire Island High Dune Wilderness and a guided tour of the Watch Hill nature trail.

Another one-bedroom cottage near Sailors Haven will be available soon for rentals from the NPS soon.
