
A spill was reported at the Bay Park Sewage Treatment Plant Monday morning, according to a notification issued by Nassau County.
According to the report, 30 gallons of 'digested sludge' spilled onto the ground around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The spill was caused by "operator error."
The facility has been plagued with these incidents since Superstorm Sandy. In mid-May, 3 million gallons of wastewater poured into Reynolds Channel. Earlier this week a spill was also reported at the county-run Cedar Creek Plant in Wantagh.
