Cabbie Robbed at Knifepoint in North Lawrence

Suspect fled on foot after demanding cash from the cab driver.

A cab driver dispatched to Queens was robbed of cash at knifepoint early Friday afternoon, according to Nassau County Police.

Detectives reported that the victim, a 44-year-old man, was driving for Dominican Cab Service when he picked up a customer in Corona and was told to drive to Washington Place in North Lawrence.

Upon arrival at the location the suspect produced a steak knife and demanded the victim’s money. 

The subject fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash.

There were no injuries reported.

He is further described as a black male, approximately 40 to 45 years old, 5’7” tall, with a heavy build, shaved head. He was reportedly wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.
