Police Seek Suspect in Knifepoint Robbery

Police are searching for a man who held a knife to a cab driver’s abdomen and robbed him of $63.

On Friday, June 14, at about 1:40 p.m., the suspect, pictured above, entered the victim’s taxi in Corona and asked to go to Far Rockaway, police said. Once the victim began to drive, the suspect changed the destination to Washington Place in North Lawrence.

Upon arriving on Washington Place, the suspect threatened the victim, holding a steak knife to his abdomen, and forcibly stole $63. He then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The pictured subject is described as a 40- to 50-year-old, 200 pound, 5-foot-seven-inch black man with a dark complexion and a shaved hair and wearing blue jeans and white t-shirt.
